Grasping Complexity in the Metaverse Economy
The new techniques brought about by the Metaverse economy, such as DAO, dynamic NFT and DID (decentralized identity), open up unprecedented perspectives. These technologies enable greater personalization of services, while introducing innovative governance mechanisms. Play-to-Earn 2.0 and Soulbound Tokens (SBT) are redefining digital interactions, enabling previously unimaginable uses.
On the blockchain and identity side, a DAO can organize direct participation through token-based voting; dynamic NFTs can change in response to external or AI-managed parameters; and decentralized identifiers (DIDs) provide identifiers controlled through cryptographic keys rather than a single platform. DIDs do not, by themselves, prove a person’s identity or guarantee privacy: trust depends on verifiable credentials, issuers, wallets, governance, revocation, and data- minimization choices.
