Grasping Complexity in the Metaverse Economy
In essence, complexity lies in the interconnection and constant dynamics of systems, whether natural or digital. The term comes from the Latin prefix – com meaning together/with, and the radical – place from the Latin verb plectere meaning to intertwine. The Metaverse economy adds to this equation a multitude of constantly evolving parallel technologies and realities, making it even more difficult to understand.
And in an arduous competitive situation, it’s best to be able to manipulate the intersection of blockchain, AI (including robotics) and alternative realities (virtual or augmented) to create New Business Models of the Metaverse economy (NB2M) with more robust barriers to entry than simply exploiting one of these technologies.
Thanks to blockchain and artificial intelligence, a foreign power can set up a company to sell baguettes in France, prepared at a lower cost by highly skilled robots, generating a business whose dividends and pseudo-salaries are mainly remitted abroad. The share of added value remaining in the country to defend its model is reduced to its minimum. Not to mention the fact that this power could contemplate terrorist activities by suddenly poisoning our food or depriving us of food, suddenly suspending a nationwide food activity.
